Nokia has won a GSM expansion deal with O2 in Germany. Nokia will supply its Base Station Subsystem (BSS) infrastructure to expand coverage in O2 Germany's GSM network in Northern, Western and Eastern Germany.

Under the agreement, Nokia delivers to O2 its UltraSite base stations, Nokia BSC3i base station controllers, the Nokia NetAct(TM) network and service management system as well as related delivery and care services, including help desk, software maintenance, emergency support and hardware repair services. The agreement covers the next four years of BSS rollouts and deliveries are ongoing.

"We chose Nokia because of our strong long-term relationship, good cooperation with the local Nokia team, as well as Nokia's proven technology leadership," said Charly Rohrsen, Chief Technical Officer, O2 Germany.
